PROCESS LEVEL PERFORMANCE The second level of performance is the process level. Core processes are those that cross functional boundaries and define how an organization's most important work gets done. Support processes are those that typically reside within functional boundaries and enable, reinforce, and connect core processes. Processes can be efficient or inefficient. They can be well aligned or poorly aligned with organization goals and structures. Processes can encourage or inhibit collaboration within an organization. They can be clear or poorly defined. Keys to effective performance at this level are alignment, ownership, documentation/communication, and continuous improvement. |
